Barnsley hospice were well on course for another record-breaking score, after the last putts were rolled in at their annual charity golf day at Silkstone on Friday, May 10th.

Once again Lifetime were the main sponsors – for the 12th year in a row – and £10,500 was raised for the hospice, a record return for the event.

Twenty-two teams pitched up on a gloriously sunny day at Silkstone Golf Club to not only play a round, but also mark the 30th anniversary of the hospice’s inception.

Corporate fundraiser Simon Atkinson enthused: “It was a wonderful day, with wonderful people and we are thrilled to announce a record-breaking return of £10,500. That beats our previous best of £8,000 from last year and shows that the event just gets bigger and better.

“Thank you to all 22 teams who took part and joined us in celebrating our 30th anniversary.

“Massive thanks particularly go to Lifetime for helping make this day possible and sponsoring our golf day for the 12th consecutive year. Thank you also to Silkstone Golf Club for kindly hosting us once again, and Annabelle of Moments-Nights Not Forgotten for creating our amazing balloon display.”

Congratulations went to Legacy Financial, who took first place with an excellent round, while ‘Bogey Pickers’ took second spot and Seaman Herbert came third.

All in all, a lot of fun and friendship while raising funds for a fantastic cause! And a good walk definitely not spoiled!
