As a seasoned financial wellbeing organisation, Lifetime is always looking at innovative ways of helping employers support their staff.
That’s why we are delighted to have organised the ‘Ways to Wellbeing’ conference on February 28.
The event brings together a group of experts who will focus on all all the positive strategies you can put in place to promote wellbeing at work.
Wellbeing is a word that’s often used right now. And there’s no getting away from the fact it is a hugely important subject. The new ‘Burnout Report’ from Mental Health UK shows that we are in real danger of losing the ‘wellbeing war’ – and are fast becoming a burnt-out nation.
The report reveals that 91% of adults have experienced high or extreme stress in the past year – and that one in five needed to take time off work due to poor mental health caused by pressure or stress.
The survey has only reinforced the belief that more needs to be done to deal with the causes of chronic stress and preventing burnout.
It doesn’t end there. There is a clear link between financial stress and absenteeism in the workplace, which has resulted in employees missing an average of 6.2 work days per year (stat taken from CIPD Employee Financial Wellbeing/PWC financial wellness survey).
And financial concerns make workers four times more likely to be clinically depressed. And staff who admit to struggling with their financial situation are twice as likely to leave their jobs.
When employees can’t focus on work due to the financial strain and worry they are under, it is not only they who suffer. Employers pay the price too, particularly when it comes to motivation, concentration and productivity.
So why not pop along to this February event – and discover exciting ways of supporting your people?
