The sun is shining and the pollen count is at its highest which can only mean one thing: exam time!

For those of you who are revising for those all important summer exams our hearts go out to you.

It’s so easy to get distracted by something else when the sun is shining; let’s face it, we don’t appear to get much in this country anymore…….

Can you remember a time during important revision days when the call of the garden was greater than the desk, or when you have sat on a rug with books around you, deluded that this was ‘just revision in the sun’?

Or were you one of those people who resisted distraction because you had a very determined goal so weren’t preoccupied by a bad hay fever day or the need for a suntan?

The question is: do you now look back and think if only I had planned and focused a little more what would life be like now, or are you grateful that you had an end goal to keep you on track?

It seems that if you have a dream and a plan as to how you are going to achieve it, you know you will have many sunny, happy days to come, so won’t be distracted by the here and now and take unnecessary risks.

The same can also be said for your finances. If you have a plan you won’t get distracted by a potentially risky quick win, or find yourself at the end of your life thinking if only.
