Monday, December 2, 2013. It could well go down in the history books.
Why, we hear you ask….?
Well, it may prove to be the busiest online shopping day ever!
‘Cyber Monday’, as this date is regularly termed, looks set to trigger an e-commerce explosion for Christmas, as millions of people go online to order their presents for the festive season.
Visa expects £450m to be to be spent today alone, with 7.7 million transactions taking place, as consumers make the most of pre-Christmas sales.
Online sales are expected to peak this evening, as people return home from work and decide to get their present shopping either all out of the way, or at last get most of it done.
The first Monday in December has consistently been the busiest online shopping day of the calendar in recent years. 2013 is set to beat all current records.
