The government’s consultation, entitled ‘Freedom and Choice in Pensions’, has outlined plans for sweeping changes in pensions. The changes, some of which are yet to be fully decided before April 2015, are designed to give you more choice and flexibility with your accrued pension fund at retirement.
But irrespective of these new proposals, the big questions remain.
Questions like about knowing the real value of your money; balancing the risks which lay ahead; and the risks you may or may not have to take.
It is a big step to go from the security of being employed with an earned income to all of a sudden being retired and relying on your savings, pension benefits and other assets you may have built up.
