Lifetime Mortgage Adviser Ken Abbot clocked up the coastal miles on Saturday – all for a great cause.

Ken (pictured below) took part in one of Macmillan Cancer Care’s Mighty Hikes.

This particular hike was from Weymouth to Wareham along the challenging but magnificent Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage site.

Ken said: “I managed to survive the gruelling 26.58 miles along the Jurassic Coast. It was without doubt the hardest thing I have done and I feel proud to have managed to complete the whole course at the grand old age of 65! Many thanks to all of those who sponsored me.

“Over 2,500 people registered for the event and the overall amount raised will be over £1.25m, a fantastic achievement by all concerned.

“My time of 14 hours 26 minutes  included ‘pit stops’ – and would you believe it, queuing in various places to get over stiles or up numerous steps!”
