Lifetime office administrator Sheila Lynch had a lovely telephone conversation with a client of financial planner Brian Howard on Tuesday – which left colleagues in tears!
Sheila (pictured below) called one of Brian’s elderly clients to book an appointment. She got talking to the client and he told her how he had fallen and hit his head and was waiting for a major operation.
He said he had been into Barnsley on the bus to try and get his confidence up and he was overwhelmed with the kindness he had received from the townspeople.
Said Lifetime office manager Lucie Haxby: “The gentleman was telling Sheila that he had been into Barnsley on the bus, to try and get his confidence up, and that he had been overwhelmed with the kindness he had received from the people of Barnsley.
“Someone asked if he was okay in town and if he wanted to sit down and have a coffee; two ladies linked arms with him to cross the road; the bus driver got off the bus to help him on and when he reached his stop, the bus driver stopped the bus and walked him to his front door and saw him in his house!
“He was telling Sheila that he was so happy that there are still kind, genuine people in the world.
“Sheila spoke to him for over half an hour, about various things, and the end of the call he thanked Sheila and said he felt much better that he had got all this off his chest as he had been bottling it up.
“Sheila was brilliant on the phone, really listened to the client, and gave him reassurance and genuine care and concern. Myself, Elaine, Fiona and Sheila were all in tears once she had come off the phone and explained it all.”
