Desert Island Discs: Featuring Lifetime Office Administrator Elaine North:

The eight songs I’ve chosen all remind me of growing up and my teenage years.

I loved the era of music that these songs come from – and it has always stuck with me.

When I hear these songs they always make me feel happy and I’m always up dancing to them!

I have been lucky enough to see the following in concert: The Specials, Madness, The Police and 10CC.

The others are on my ‘To Do List’, if I get the chance!

So here you go, my eight Desert Island Discs!

Disc One: Going Underground – The Jam

Disc Two: Beat Surrender – The Jam

Disc Three: Too Much Too Young – The Specials

Disc Four: Atomic – Blondie

Disc Five: Airport – The Motors

Disc Six: Baggy Trousers – Madness

Disc Seven: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic – The Police

Disc Eight: I’m Not In Love – 10cc

Choice of book: Foraging, The Essential Guide to Free Wild Food, by John Lewis Stempel.

I would need this book or I would probably poison myself on the desert island!

Luxury Item: A wind-up radio with LED torch.

Episode 11: Nicola Dickinson
