Owner, Blue Lights Photography:
“I live in Barnsley and I’m a ‘people photographer’. By that I mean anything to do with people and I’m there! I love being sociable. I mainly concentrate on weddings and portraiture of children and families, but have expanded into maternity photography, modelling portfolios, boudoir and fine art. I work nationwide.
“The emotion inspires me. People inspire me. It’s just that connection. It’s knowing that you are providing images for people to keep forever, that you’ll be remembered for providing that moment captured in time. Forever. That’s what inspires me to keep going.
“My earliest memory of me having a camera in my hands is when I was three, and the headmaster from the local school came to visit us at home before I started going to visit to settle in before I started school.
“I remember hiding behind the door, then jumping out and taking any random photographs, with no film in the camera. I suppose that’s exactly when it all started.
“When I’m not photographing you can generally find me in my office, marketing something new, or on twitter and face book. I’ve always got to be on the go, I’ve always got to be doing something.
“Client satisfaction to me is a major importance. If your client is happy they’ll tell people they are happy. If your client isn’t happy they’ll tell people they are not happy. Word of mouth is a powerful tool.
“Before I set up Blue Lights Photography, I was an assistant manager of a jewellery retail company.”
