Lifetime’s ‘Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students’ speakers have issued a hearty ‘well done’ to all schools, staff and in particular students in the borough over their GCSE results.

Barnsley has announced its best ever GCSE results.

The proportion of students in the town attaining five or more A* – C grades, including maths and English, has increased by 5% on last year’s results, to 55%.

Another first for Barnsley is that results at this point are above last year’s national average.

Horizon College are celebrating their best ever results this year; 67% 5 A*-C inc. English Language & Maths.

• The Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students project is the brainchild of Barnsley-based financial management company Lifetime – and after an initial trial at Horizon Community College is now on offer at other local schools too, including Penistone Grammar, Darton, Holy Trinity and Greenacre.
