Lifetime were privileged to play a part in the official opening of Horizon Community College on Thursday evening.

Our Communications Director Bill Bottomley was one of a number of VIP guests – including speaker Sir Steve Houghton, leader of Barnsley Council – who were invited along to the grand ceremony.

The students delivered a number of dance and song performances, while Bill (pictured below) and other members of the local community who have a link with the College were asked to play their role in the ‘digital launch’.

While the female compere talked about Lifetime’s burgeoning relationship with Horizon through our Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students project, Bill was asked to come forward and click on a computer programme which then put his photograph onto an mage of the Horizon logo.

Once 50 photographs covered the logo a banner appeared to declare Horizon officially open!

Said Bill: “It was a fantastic evening and once again showed the very best of Barnsley. The students put on a superb show and I was proud to be there representing Lifetime and our Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students venture.”

A few of Lifetime’s BBIS speakers also attended the college opening, including the BBC’s 2012 Young Apprentice winner Ashleigh Porter-Exley who has just landed a new role at estate agents Reeds Rains.
