Rebecca Sykes gave Horizon’s Year 7 master class students a ‘snapshot’ of her life as a Barnsley-based photographer on Thursday afternoon.
Rebecca, who owns Blush Photography, is one of Lifetime’s ‘Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students’ speakers, and had kindly agreed to go into the Community College on Dodworth Road to deliver ‘her story’.
She followed in the footsteps of best-selling author Milly Johnson, who had ‘inspired’ students the previous week.
Rebecca also proved to be a big hit, so much so that Horizon’s Year 7 twitter feed were quick to issue the congratulatory message: “Great presentation Rebecca, and great tips on photography, love the last supper photograph!”
Said Rebecca: “I had a great afternoon talking to the students at Horizon and as long as I’ve inspired at least one person today I’m happy!”
Lifetime’s BBIS project is now really beginning to pick up pace, with a dozen or so speakers having gone into Horizon to ‘inspire’ the students in the last few months, including our very own managing director Ian Dickinson, the aforementioned Milly Johnson, and Barnsley FC’s chief executive Ben Mansford.
