Standards Compliance
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) have been used to control the presentation of pages on this site. If CSS is switched off or not supported, you should still be able to use this site as it has been written using valid, structural XHTML.
The pages within the Lifetime Financial web site comply with all priority 1, 2 and 3 (where possible) guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
The pages within the Lifetime Financial web site should validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. We are currently checking all pages for validity to this standard. All new web pages are checked as part of the authoring procedure.
All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H1 tags and lower for subtitles.
Links
Links are written to make sense out of context. Note:. The link to the guide refers to the guide format (i.e. "html", "pdf", etc.). In this case, the title attribute of the link give more information about the title and nature of the Guide.
When a link leads away from the Lifetime Financial web site, a new browser window will open. This should be noted in the title of the link (see the above links on this page as an example).
Images
All content images used in this site include descriptive alt and title attributes to display a short description of the image or if also a link then the purpose of the link. Purely decorative graphics include null alt attributes.
Visual Design
This site uses tables for visual layout. Where used solely for layout purposes, table headers are not used, and a null summary attribute should be used (summary="").
This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.
Style sheets are used to designate font size and colour, both in "ordinary" text and linked text, and background and other visual layout aspects of tables.
If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
